Lake House Transformation
Updated: Jun 2, 2018
This has been one of the most fun projects we have worked on yet! These super sweet clients recently bought a house that was in a great location, but needed lots of changes to meet their needs and tastes. We got to work on some designs and selections, and pulled together a fabulous renovation for them!
One of the first things that we had to do was to remove these horrible and awkward columns that were in the kitchen. Our clients really wanted an open feel to this space, and we knew the only way to make that happen was to get rid of the columns!
This, however, required a "ton" of work....no pun intended. After demo, we had to install a 20 foot, 1,000 pound steel beam to support the load that the columns were carrying! With the strength of 12 men, we got the job done and could move on with the reno!
Thanks to the crew at Foundation Doctor for their teamwork effort on this one!
And the finished product includes all new Norcraft cabinetry, two gorgeous slabs of Fantasy Brown marble countertops, and best of all, an OPEN space without awkward columns! ("before" in top 2...."after" in following 4 images)
Another important item to the homeowners was that they could see straight through to the beautiful lake that was in their backyard from the front door. No problem!
(Before on the left....After on the right!)
The master bathroom was quite dated and just not pretty at all. We put a design together that included new custom cabinetry, Shadow Storm quartz countertops, and a fabulously spacious shower that our clients love!
Another fabulous feature that we added is the 2-story stacked stone fireplace. We actually had to add some reinforcements in the foundation to support all the stone, but it was so worth it when we were able to present the final product! (You can also see the gorgeous new hardwood floors that were refinished in a beautiful Dark Walnut color.)
We have had so much fun designing this project, seeing the selections come together, and working with these awesome folks! Enjoy some more images and feel free to leave us some love about what your favorite part is!!
